A Collection of Traditional Breads & Scones by Norah Brown
I have always been passionate about our Traditional Irish Breads. The smell of the bread baking in the kitchen takes me back to my Granny’s farm in Cappanarrow, Co Laois and her big open fire on which she cooked her bread.
For me, its important that we carry on the tradition of making these breads at home and although we don’t have an open fire for baking, we can still recreate the same smells and tastes in our modern kitchen environment.
This booklet brings together a collection of traditional Irish Breads & Scone recipes that are quite simple to make in the comfort of your own kitchen. Irish Breads don’t require yeast and can be made quite quickly with the use of Bicarbonate of Soda and Buttermilk to rise the bread.
There are lots of hints and tips included on how you can perfect your bread and scones plus new recipe ideas created by myself to give the breads a modern twist.
For each booklet sold, we will be making a £1 donation to Southern Area Hospice Services, Northern Ireland. If you would like more information on the work that The Hospice does please visit www.southernareahospiceservices.org
Hope you will enjoy this booklet and don’t forget you can follow my Facebook page Cook With Norah for lots more recipes, hints and tips.
